Kisshia Simmons is a Partner with Simmons Grant, PLLC. She graduated from Cornell University and then received her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.  Immediately upon graduation, she was accepted into the prestigious Attorney General Honor’s program.  Through the program, she was selected to work at the Department of Homeland Security as Assistant Chief Counsel trying cases before the Immigration Court.  Ms. Simmons is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).  As a member with AILA, she serves on the Federal Practice committee.  She is also a member of the Inter-American Affairs Committee with the New York City Bar.  She is also honored to be on the Board of Directors of DanceBrazil.  She is proficient in Spanish. To contact Ms. Simmons, email her at ksimmons@simmonsgrant.com.
Lillane Mair is a Partner with Simmons Grant PLLC.  Ms. Mair graduated cum laude from Syracuse University and she received her law degree from Syracuse University College of Law.  In law school she was part of a moot court team; and was one of two teams to make it to the semi-finals.  Upon graduation she became the Head of Business and Legal Affairs at a record label.  Following this experience, she started her own law firm and has been a successful general practitioner.  Along with being licensed in New York, she is also admitted to practice in Federal Court, the Eastern District Federal Court and the Southern District Federal Court.  Ms. Mair is also a member of a pro bono panel which litigates immigration cases at Bedford Womens’ Correctional Facility.  To contact Ms. Mair, email her at lmair@simmonsgrant.com.
Alexandra Bonano is a Paralegal at Simmons Grant, PLLC. She received her B.A from Syracuse University. After completing her undergraduate studies, Ms. Bonano went on to receive an MA in Latin American Studies from Georgetown University followed by an M.A in Anthropology from Syracuse University. Her graduate research focus was on transnational migration and the politics of racial and gender identity. Ms. Bonano has taught at Rutgers University and the Pratt Institute, among other universities. In addition to working at Simmons Grant, PLLC, Ms. Bonano teaches weekly meditation classes in Astoria, the East Village and other locations in the New York City area.  Joanalee Robertson is a Paralegal/Administrative Assistant with Simmons Grant, PLLC. She is a graduate with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Technology, Kingston, Jamaica. She is also pursuing a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Monroe College. As a Paralegal, she has conducted legal research into various areas of U.S. immigration law.  She works on the firm’s PERM, H-1B and H-2B cases.  Before joining Simmons Grant, PLLC she prepared visa refusal appeals on behalf of clients who were denied their visas, and applied for U.S. waivers of inadmissibility.  To contact Ms. Robertson, email her at jrobertson@simmonsgrant.com.
